WHAT
WE DO

We’re building initiatives that directly address our community’s needs

PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.

Mentorship Program Launch

Starting in Fall 2025, MOV will launch a structured mentorship program connecting young people with community leaders. Mentors will meet with students bi-weekly, teaching essential life skills such as financial literacy, work ethic, spiritual growth, and education planning. Youth will also have opportunities for job shadowing, summer projects that build responsibility, and even sponsorship to leadership camps.

Financial Literacy & Wealth Building Workshops

In partnership with local colleges and businesses, MOV will host workshops focused on budgeting, saving, investing, credit, and entrepreneurship. These sessions are designed to empower individuals and families with the tools to rise out of poverty, break cycles of generational struggle, and pursue financial stability. Participants will also gain access to career planning support and small business development resources.

Civic Engagement & Voter Awareness

MOV is committed to raising civic participation through voter registration drives, community forums, and educational workshops. Beginning in Spring 2025, we began working with local churches and organizations to identify unregistered voters, provide transportation to polling places, and host forums where residents can engage with candidates and leaders. Our goal is to ensure every voice in our community is informed and heard.

Community Service & Volunteering

MOV members will be visible in the community through volunteer opportunities such as health screenings, dental and medical partnerships, safe youth events, and collaborations with other nonprofits. These efforts will strengthen trust, expand MOV’s reach, and create safe spaces where families can connect and thrive.
